UNTOUCHED 18TH CENTURY GEORGE II MAHOGANY DROP-LEAF TABLE, C1760

Untouched Mid 18th Century George II Period Mahogany Drop-Leaf Dining Table

An untouched mid-18th century George II period mahogany drop-leaf dining table with original solid figured tops. The rectangular-shaped top features drop leaves on either side, providing versatile functionality. The drop leaves are supported by sturdy, hinged gate cabriole legs with ball and claw feet, terminating in small original brass castors, ensuring stability and ease of use. The rich colour and enticing patina give the piece a timeless allure, adding depth and character to any room. Over time, the mahogany has developed a wonderful depth of colour that accentuates the warmth and figure of the timber, a hallmark of furniture from this era. Georgian pieces are highly prized for their superior cabinetmaking, classic proportions and exquisite choice of materials, and this table is no exception.
This dining table is not only a testament to exceptional Georgian craftsmanship but also a striking centrepiece for any home that values history, quality and understated elegance.
