19TH CENTURY FRENCH CHARLES X MAHOGANY CENTRE TABLE, C1830

Fine 19th-Century French Charles X Solid Mahogany Centre Table

A distinguished early 19th-century French Charles X gueridon or centre table, finely crafted in solid mahogany. The original circular figured mahogany top is framed by a moulded edge and a slim apron, showcasing beautifully grained timber with a deep, warm patina.
The top is supported on an elegant carved splayed and reeded pedestal, set on a square moulded base. Four boldly carved C?scroll lion’s paw (claw) feet provide a striking and sculptural foundation, combining refinement with a strong architectural presence.
This piece exemplifies the quality and restraint of Charles X design: clean lines, superb timber selection, and carefully judged ornament. Both decorative and practical, it is an ideal centre or hall table, bringing character and sophistication to any refined interior.
