A terracotta statue of a standing horse made during the Tang Dynasty. 618-906AD. The animal stands foursquare on a rectangular base with it's head pointing downwards and to the left. The decoration has been painted on after firing and it's tail has been cut and wrapped in coloured silk. Oxford TL tested, sample No C113e9. Two samples were taken; one from under the head and one from the right buttock. Both are from the period.
