A 19th century French elaborately hand carved ebony cross splat Prie-Dieu or prayer chair. A religious kneeler from the late 19th century, featuring a padded black leather top rail and seat, accented by nailhead tack trim. The exceptionally executed ecclesiastical designed back centering a carved dog sculpture. framed by scroll vining ivy and foliate ornamental carvings, original sprung seat base, upholstered in black leather. Above two hairy paws front turned legs, and turned back legs.
