19TH CENTURY ROSEWOOD CABINET IN THE RENAISSANCE STYLE, C1850

Stunning Quality 19th-century Rosewood Dutch Cabinet Cupboard

An exquisite antique mid-19th-century Dutch cabinet or cupboard in the Renaissance style, crafted from the finest rosewood veneers on solid oak. The piece features a moulded top cornice above a frieze of three carved lion masks. The two central doors, with deep panels and the original key and working lock, open to reveal a shelved interior with a pair of drawers. The cabinet is flanked by high-relief grape and vine carvings above a pair of drawers and stands on two front bun feet. These cabinets served functional purposes and doubled as works of art, safeguarding valuable possessions such as linens and silverware. It is of superb quality with a lovely warm patina to the rosewood.
