Handsome George III Period 18th-century Mahogany Chippendale Armchair
A very fine late 18th-century George III period Chippendale Cuban mahogany armchair, featuring a shaped crest rail with carved 'C' scroll ends above a wide, carved, pierced splat and bold out-scrolling arms. The burgundy leather upholstered seat is supported by moulded Marlborough legs, all united by traditional 'H' stretchers. The seat height is 48 cm. Generously proportioned, this desk chair offers both comfort and aesthetic appeal, retaining its original colour and patina to the frames and ensuring it stands out in any setting.
In good condition and crafted in England circa 1780, this armchair is not only highly functional but also a superb representation of the Georgian craftmanship[ and design.
