A fine quality mid-19th century Victorian period mahogany and brown leather captain’s office armchair. This elegant chair features a beautifully curved scroll back in brown leather, adorned with deep buttoning and secured to carved mahogany side supports. The scroll back is further enhanced with finely moulded mahogany caps above the shaped front supports.The sprung and webbed leather seat is designed for exceptional comfort, with a bow-fronted profile finished with brass studwork. The chair is supported by tapering fluted legs at the front, splayed legs at the rear, and rests on its original brass castors. A superb example of Victorian craftsmanship, made in England circa 1850.
