A late 19th-century Black Forest German-Austrian two-part mahogany antler gun cabinet. The top section features a single large glazed door, while the base has one drawer over two doors. The top is crowned with one of the most stunning arrangements of red and fallow deer antlers ever seen on a piece of case furniture, with boar tusks at the front center surrounded by a deer-carved pediment. The sides and base are richly decorated with several antlers from stags and fallow deer, along with turned horn ends and figural hand-carved horn roses, expertly carved in deep relief from the base of an antler. Polished crowns punctuate the points where two or more antlers join throughout the case. Inside, there are mounts for four rifles with brass fixtures, and even the forked footings where the gun stocks rest inside the cabinet are made of antlers. The cabinet is in excellent, clean condition throughout.
