19TH CENTURY GEORGIAN MAHOGANY WELLINGTON CHEST, C1820

An early 19th-century, late Georgian period mahogany Wellington chest, attributed to Gillows. The chest boasts a lovely rich plum mahogany colour and features seven mahogany-lined drawers with original turned wooden knobs. The drawers are flanked by pilasters, with the right-hand pilaster serving as a locking mechanism for the drawers, secured by a working Bramah lock and key. It stands on a plinth base, incorporating design elements characteristic of Gillows. Made circa 1820, this Wellington chest is in excellent original condition, with a superb plum mahogany brown finish.
