19TH CENTURY GEORGE III PERIOD MAHOGANY READING TABLE

A fine early 19th-century George III period mahogany and ebony inlaid reading table. The table features one faux drawer on one side and has a rise and fall reading slope. The opposite side of the table houses a working mahogany-lined drawer and slide with turned brass round knobs. Ebony line inlays and stringing adorn the edges of the drawers. It stands on a mahogany hand-turned column with quadruple swept fluted sabre legs that terminate in brass toes and castors. This piece exhibits a lovely patina and is in very good sturdy condition.
