A very fine 19th-century Chippendale style mahogany pedestal desk. The rectangular top features an inset green tooled leather writing surface and a carved moulded edge, above three frieze drawers. The twin pedestals are fitted with three graduated drawers each. The desk has a total arrangement of nine graduated mahogany-lined drawers with the original brass swan neck handles, all raised on very elegant carved ogee bracket feet.
