A Handsome Late 18th Century George III Period Burgundy Leather Library Wing Armchair, C1790

This handsome and larger scale George III period wing back library armchair has recently been finely reupholstered in burgundy leather which has been hand finished to give a well patinated look. The substantial, well-shaped frame features an upholstered back, and arms, all covered in the original burgundy red leather. The chair boasts scrolling arms, a sprung loose cushion seat, and close-nailed brass stud detailing. The chair stands on square moulded mahogany legs connected with stretchers. The frame is in good solid condition and the chair has a good seat height and is very comfortable to sit in and will give many years of good service before ever needing to be reupholstered again. The chair has a beautiful colour and rich patination, and it is very comfortable. It is in superb condition with no damage or repairs. The chair seat height is 45cm. This armchair offers both comfort and aesthetic charm. English circa 1790
