A stunning late 19th century, early 20th century Syrian Damascus marquetry and inlaid games table for cards, chess, draughts and backgammon with inlaid counters. The top swivels and lifts to reveal a green velvet inset playing surface which also lifts to the backgammon board with the chess board to the reverse. All standing on serpentine shaped legs with joining cross stretchers. The whole profusely inlaid overall with geometric designs in boxwood, ebony, mother of pearl and various other exotic woods. A true masterpiece of marquetry work.
