A mid 19th Century, Victorian period burr walnut and ebony moulding pop up davenport desk. The top with a very fine fretwork gallery above a slide out writing surface with the original tooled leather inset, with stationary storage underneath with a pen slide revealing the secret lever to activate the pop up stationary box. The piano top lid is complete with a working lock and key. There are four graduated drawers with ebony turned wooden knobs to the right side that all slide nice and smooth as they should with four dummy drawers to the opposing side. The reverse is also finished allowing it to be free standing. This Davenport stands on four original brass and porcelain castors. Superb quality with original colour and patina.
